Join us this Sunday, Jun 24th at 10AM as Eastside Church Welcomes the Lambert Family!
Eastside Church welcomes our new Interim-Worship Director, Tim Lambert!
We invite you to join us this weekend, June 24th at 10 am, as we celebrate a new journey with our Worship Team and receive another beautiful sermon delivered by our very own Pastor Jeremy entitled,
“How to Wait with Purpose“.
Dear Eastside Family,
I pray that this note finds you well and enjoying the beginning of a beautiful summer! A few days ago, I was reminded of the Apostle Paul’s wonderful words of encouragement to the church in Philippi. In chapter 4:19, while remembering their needs as a church family, he says, “And my God will supply all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (4:19). How wonderful it is that we serve a God who intimately cares about our needs and promises to provide for us! We are so blessed!
When I came on board at Eastside as the new Lead Pastor, I had the honor to meet with Pam Ernst and Alex Horvath to hear their hearts and learn about worship at Eastside. Every week they do an amazing job preparing and leading our family in powerful worship-where we experience God’s unfailing love and the presence of Jesus. They faithfully put in a lot of time and energy with the rest of the worship team throughout the week. On Sundays, we have the joy of witnessing how it all comes together so beautifully by the power of the Holy Spirit. I am so grateful for them sharing their gifts and talents with our family. I have also learned how beautifully Karla Van Aardt led the team during the interim months and how her worship leadership significantly blessed our Eastside family. Thank you Karla!
Pam and Alex also shared with me what their needs are as a worship team and what would help them feel most supported, equipped, and empowered as we move forward into the great plans God has for Eastside. Together, we identified the need for a part-time Worship Director who could pour into the team, provide coaching, leadership, and direction as we seek to look, live, and love like Jesus in worship. This opportunity would then free Pam and Alex to invest into areas of worship where they feel most gifted and passionate to serve.
After much prayer, reflection, and discussion with our awesome Leadership Team, we decided to create an interim-Worship Director position for the summer in preparation for a permanent Worship Director position in the fall. This will give Pam and Alex much needed rest and strengthen the already very talented and Spirit-filled worship team we have. I then took this need to the Lord and almost immediately he provided for Eastside’s need – keeping his promise to provide!
I am very excited to announce that I have invited Tim Lambert on board as our interim-Worship Director until September 16th and he has enthusiastically agreed! Who is Tim Lambert you ask? Well, let me tell you. Tim and I met at Pearce Memorial Church four years ago where Tim served as the Director of Worship Arts for nearly ten years. I have seen in Tim a very passionate, joyful, and talented follower of Jesus and worship leader. I don’t think there is an instrument Tim cannot play, but more importantly Tim loves to pour into others as a leader and nothing gives him greater joy than to watch his team grow in Jesus and the gifts God has given them.
He will be joined at Eastside with his lovely wife Shelly and their three Lego-loving boys (Jack, Micah, and Jude) beginning this Sunday, June 24th. On Sunday, I will introduce them to you and we will celebrate by offering a word of prayer over Tim. I hope you can join us as we give the Lamberts a warm Eastside welcome and take a moment on Sunday to say, “Hi!”
Thank you for your many prayers as we seek to fulfill our mission of growing life-changing relationships with God and neighbor!
I love being your Pastor!
