God’s Wonderful Deeds

End of Year Giving for 2022
Tim Holt - Treasurer

Looking for one more end of year gift opportunity for 2022? Please consider giving to Eastside Church! We are able to receive gifts by check or cash as late as this Sunday and still apply to the 2022 giving cycle if dated before 1/1/23. Please also memo "2022 Gift" on your check. If you give on-line, please submit your gift BEFORE 1/1/23 (we have no control over the posting date for on-line giving). We were about $7,500 behind on our giving budget at the end of November so any effort to close the 2022 budget gap is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your generous hearts!

God’s Wonderful Deeds
Pastor Kathryn

I don’t know about you, but I always tend to spend extra time reflecting during this time of year. I try to stretch my brain, think all the way back to January, and look at moments that have happened this year. Both the good, the bad, and the ugly! There have been times this year that have been celebratory, times where I’ve definitely put my foot in mouth, and times of difficulty.

I think of moments this past year at Eastside and everything we’ve been through in the past year! While we have experienced hardships, there are a lot of amazing things that have happened over the course of this year! We’ve re-launched our nursery for parents/guardians that would like to utilize it during our worship time. (THANK YOU!! to our amazing volunteers in the nursery!)

We welcomed Tim Lambert onto the team as our new Music Director so that I would be able to transition to the position of Assistant Pastor. He brought Sam Longfellow and Evie (Mehlenbacher) Baggatta in as worship leaders as well! And let me tell you, all three of them do such an AWESOME job! Those three and the rest of the team do such a wonderful job leading us in worship through song.

We also launched a new grow group based on The Chosen that I know has been very impactful for the people who have attended and participated in the group. We’re excited to be in the works of offering another grow group that will walk through the second season in the coming year!

This past November and December we had the opportunity to Adopt a Family from our very own Allyson Ryan. This inter-generational family of nine was in need for Christmas due to unexpected circumstances, and we were able to bless them with over 50 gifts! Ranging from baby supplies to toys, grocery/gas gift cards, cleaning supplies, and other wish list items. We were blown away by the enthusiasm and generosity of everyone, we can’t wait to do it again next Christmas!!

Finally, we have seen so many new faces at Eastside! There are many people who over the past year have decided to call Eastside their new church home and that definitely is an amazing thing. And there are so many other amazing things that have happened over the course of this year to our church family! Everything that I just listed was off the top of my head!

It makes me think of this passage from Psalm 9:1, "I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.”

God has certainly done wonderful things for our church and for each one of us this year, and we’re looking forward to what the Lord has in store for Eastside in the next year.
