May Issue of Light and Life Magazine
In the “Openers” section we read, “Light + Life continues its yearlong Bible journey by looking at what it meant to be an exile in the Bible and how we can apply this knowledge to our walk with God today.” In the feature article, Roberta Mosier-Peterson relates, “God’s judgment is executed by Babylon. The city and the temple are destroyed in 587 B.C. The glorious place that has gleamed with the radiance of God is now a pile of garbage. Their glory is wrecked! People are deported to Babylon.” Bishop David Roller in his article, “Exile: Torn Away, Torn Down and Torn Up” states, “Exile is the most radical rupture of life anyone can experience. It rends the fabric of well-being on every level: social, psychological, familial, spiritual and physical.” Other articles include “Sometimes We Forget” and “A New Homeland.” With General Conference 2019 less than three months away, this issues contains biographical sketches of the five candidates for the office of Bishop.
