Seating the Table
Seating the Table explores Jesus’ radical teaching in Luke 14:1–24, where He challenges religious leaders and everyday believers to rethink humility, hospitality, and righteousness. Through stories of banquets and seating arrangements, Jesus reveals that God’s Kingdom overturns social status, inviting the poor, the outcast, and the overlooked to places of honor. This sermon calls the Church to move beyond comfortable relationships and transactional generosity toward Christ-centered hospitality that reflects God’s grace, justice, and love. True righteousness, Jesus teaches, is found not in pride or social standing, but in humbly making room at the table for those whom society excludes—and showing up ourselves to receive the grace already prepared for us.
