Serve the World

Reaching Out One life at a time

Mark 16:15

Our greatest mission in life is to find Jesus and then share Jesus. Jesus told his disciples: "Go into all the world and share the Good News with everyone." This is how the unfailing love of God spreads to everyone across the globe. At Eastside, we strive to share the Good News of God's unfailing love through Word and deed in different ways...
locally, nationally, and internationally.

In addition to corporate financial giving and service through Eastside Church, we also encourage individual giving and service as the Spirit leads, and we would like to inform you of some opportunities that might tug on your heart string.

Sleep in heavenly peace...No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in our Town.

All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. In Rochester and across the US, too many boys and girls go without a bed—or even a pillow—to sleep on. These children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their happiness and health. After listening to a sermon on James 3,  Shawn and Donna Ritchie  felt led by the Holy Spirit to “put their faith into action”  and start a local chapter of Sleep In Heavenly Peace (SHP)  - a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need, a great way to show God’s love to local families in a very tangible way .

Many at Eastside have joined this mission, by volunteering for one of the monthly bed builds, deliveries, or by donating pillows, sheet sets and blankets for the kids.  It brings us great joy to work alongside our friends and family to help out our neighbors in need. Won't you consider joining us?.

Reach-Out Food Drive

On the first Wednesday of every month, we collect non-perishable food items, paper products, and personal hygiene items to donate to our local Perinton Food Cupboard and/or Cameron Community Ministries. It's our way of meeting a very basic need of our neighbors who may find themselves in a tight place financially.

Perinton Food Shelf has indicated that supplies are getting very low this summer in the following categories:
rice, rice mixes, soup, oatmeal, cookies, ramen noodles, tuna, canned pasta, hash, beef stew, chili, coffee, tea, juice boxes, mac cheese, brownie mix, stuffing, spaghetti, fruit cocktail, shampoo, soap, deodorant,  and toothbrushes.

Family Promise... keeping families together... Getting Families Home - for good.

RAIHN is now Family Promise, a not-for-profit, culturally-competent organization that assists homeless families to achieve sustainable independence by supporting them with tailored services, including shelter, food, personalized case management, and a diverse network of caring volunteers.

At Eastside, it brings us great joy helping our homeless neighbors by providing warm meals, a caring presence, and generous giving at local churches that host these families from night to night until they are able to get back on their feet.
